Approach

I photograph on film and digital together. Film gives the skin tones, the colour and the soft, dreamy quality I love, and most portrait sessions are shot that way. Digital carries the fast-moving parts of a wedding day and the dark end of a reception. Using both means each camera does what it is best at.

Almost everything I plan is planned around light. I build every wedding timeline and every portrait session around the best hour of the day, because the sun is the one thing that transforms a photograph and it costs nothing. Zach, my husband, is my second photographer, so your gallery is two sets of eyes on the same day.

I do not want you to finish with files and nothing to hold. Collections include an archival wedding album, a linen keepsake box with prints and a USB, and framed fine art prints that arrive ready to hang. Photographs were meant to be held, not stored on a laptop that may one day fail.

Zach and I grew up in Mississippi. Since marrying in 2014 we have lived in Charleston, Washington DC and Wichita, and we still photograph weddings in all of them. Alongside weddings I photograph lifestyle newborn sessions, families, business headshots and branding work.
